Artificial Insemination

Many breeders are trained to do their own AI but other individuals are uncomfortable performing this procedure on their own.  If you are looking for an experienced AI technician contact your local veterinarian, University Extension Specialist or the dairy farmer down the road.

Natural heat is an acceptable time for AI .  Heat detection must be excellent and this sometimes becomes the deciding factor on choosing to breed on natural heat or a synchronized estrus.

Some of these are appropriate for timed AI and others work with observed heat.
